About…..
This blog has moved to Whimsical Archives.com. Please go there for more recent content.
Vegetarian since April 2nd, 2010.
I finally love vegetables. Well, most of them anyway. And only if they’re cooked. If they’re raw they are dead to me.
Mom of 2 boys. Been married 10 years.
I like dessert. And books. And dogs. And my camera.
I can finally run 1 mile. (Read this. I’m proud of it.)
Why do I write this blog?
Because I’m bored and need something to do. Wish I could give a more sophisticated reason, but hey, I’m being honest here.
“The Chronicles of King Tater.”
The Potatoes……
Tater
Born August 31st, 2009.

Born September 1st, 2001.
Here is my baby. Sugar. I love her way more than is healthy for me.
And my other baby, (but she is not a lap-dog like Sugar). This is Muffin…
My cat, Ditty…..
So, that’s all my babies.
Here’s one of me……
A few random facts about me:
*I haven’t always been a stay-at-home mom. I was a realtor for two years, then I went to college for a year and a half, then I was a librarian for 2 years. And while I really like college and earning my own money, I much prefer to raise my babies versus leaving them all day with possibly untrustworthy strangers.
*I do not consume caffeine at all. I realized the hard way that it is the devil.
*Since giving up caffeine and meat products, I have never felt better in my life. True story.
*I am a religious person. Sometimes I use a few bad words on my blog, but it is usually for a humorous effect. I don’t think I’m going to hell for it.
Even though I’m religious, I will not discuss religion here. I don’t agree with most (or all) denominations, so I won’t rock the boat. I’m not a boat-rocker. Boat-rockers tick me off.
*Technology and gadgets make me happy.
*Books make me happy.
*My dog makes me immensely happy. She is valium in fur form.

Thanks so much!
And thanks for reading.
oh my goodness, I have hypothyroidism as well and I was just recently diagnosed. How has this hindered you in your weight loss and what are some tips you have for people with the disease?
Thanks so much,
Miss Jones
Hey Miss Jones.
First , I have a post titled ‘Learning to Run’. Look that up and read that. I wrote a bit about struggling with weight loss and hypothyroidsm. Also, I have been working on a new page for my blog that is entirely about my medical conditions, so check back for that in a few days. I think there could be some helpful information in there for you.
As for personal advice….
If you were just diagnosed, there is really nothing you can do about weight loss until your body has had a chance to regulate. And the only way to regulate your body (and therefore, your metabolism) is to be diligent about taking your medication. Of course, start by eating healthy. Then, once your doctor has told you that your thyroid levels look good, you can start dieting and exerciseing. Just so you know, it can take a while for your metabolism to straighten out. And I hate to tell you this, but you are very likely to lose slower than most people even after your metabolism is back to normal. But, it CAN happen. It will just take diligence on your part.
Again, check back for my new info page in a few days. In the meantime, I hope I was helpful. Please feel free to ask me anything.
I’m very sorry you were diagnosed with hypothyroidism. It really is a life-long journey. But I assure you, once your medication takes effect, you’ll be amazed how much better you feel.
Is the picture of you new? I have seen that one….I like it…it’s good.
I mean’t I haven’t seen that one…I can’t type. ttyl

Oh, well my goodness, thank you!
Hi,
I like you blog. Thanks for sharing your story. And you have a lovely family, both human and non-human. I like the name of your blog. Like you, I am a vegetarian. And I am not into converting but certainly am on a mission to raise awareness about the treatment of factory animals, and the health benefit of eating less meat, making our planet more sustainable for future generations, etc.
All the best and see you around in blogosphere.
Zainil
Thank you Zainil!
I am quite the animal lover. But, then again, I think most vegetarians are.
The food industry today is certainly appalling. But honestly, that is not the main reason I became vegetarian. I simply like NOT eating animals.
See you around as well. Thanks for your very nice comment.
