BOOKS

I can’t help but think that people that visit my site may have no idea what a bibliophile is. So…..

A bibliophile is a person that loves books. That’s it. Google it. You’ll see.

I own many books, I’ve read many books. So help me, one day I will write a book. Maybe. Hopefully. We shall see.

So why did I name a primarily foodie site BlondeBibliophile?

Because I’m a rebel. It’s how I roll. :-)

If you are at all curious about the massive amount of books I own you can visit my LibraryThing. I LOVE LibraryThing. My books are cataloged here, along with some book reviews I have written.

Reading is sexy

11 FUN FACTS ABOUT ME AND MY BOOKS

1. I buy those protective covers that one finds on library books and wrap my dust-jackets in them (Not all of them, but a lot). My books look just like library books, only they are nice and clean. (I know I’m abnormal, you don’t need to tell me).

2. I can NOT STAND when people mistreat books. Writing in them, dog-earring pages, laying them face down while OPEN, spills, stains, etc. It all drives me nuts.

3. I prefer hardbacks. I’m snobby like that.

4. I will never do the Kindle, Nook, or Ipad thing. It jut takes something away from the experience. Ok, “NEVER” may be too extreme.

5. I like to simply look at books. Rows of books, stacks of books, pictures of books. Again, yes, I’m abnormal.

6. For the past 6 years, I have had a room in my house dedicated to my books. A library. When we move, I will most likely make my boys share a room so I can turn a bedroom into the library. I know, that’s awful.

7. I have a weird problem and obsession about owning the books I have read. I don’t like to use the library because I like to personally OWN the books I read. I am going to make myself overcome this. It’s ridiculous.

8. I used to be a librarian. It’s boring. You can’t read, you have to freaking work. No…… you have to try to find work to do because there’s not any. But, what you really want to do is read. It’s all very annoying.

9. I like to read for fun. Stephanie Plum, Edward Cullen, Sookie Stackhouse, the Salvatore brothers, the “Shifter” series by Rachel Vincent…etc. Fun stuff. So sue me.

10. I HIGHLY prefer reading over television. HIGHLY.     Unless Supernatural is on. Then books take a backseat for an hour on Thursday night.

11. If you are one of those people that reads a series out of order, I’m sorry, but I can’t be your friend. You annoy me. ;-)

For the past 3 years, I have kept a list of all the books I have read. I keep this list as a Word document, but I have decided to keep my list going on the blog too.

This list is not complete. The first list is books that I know I have read, but didn’t track WHEN I read them. After that is the lists of books I have read according to year (started in 2007.) I haven’t read as many books per year as I would like, I’ve been a little busy being mom. :-)

Yes, I am definitely going to join. I checked it out the other day after you suggested it.
OMG. I love it. I am going to spend a lot of time on there. I can tell.
I THINK I may like it more than LibraryThing. Which makes me feel incredibly unfaithful. :-)
